The Next Big Adventure

Well it's time once again for Earth Dog's big adventure....This year, mother and I are flying to Amsterdam and then on to Tanzania. Mother has been planning this trip for a year. In the last 9 months I've received numerous emails outlining her plans and attempts to learn Swahili. As a precursor to the big event, I thought over the next several weeks I would share some of the more humorous emails and conversations.

This email was received in Aug 2005 and was in response to an email I sent her telling her of my total weight loss.


15.5 is wonderful!! And I'm proud of you and ashamed of me. I was calling to tell you what your baby brother (and his wife!) said. Your brother said, "Never turn your back on a lion - it would be exciting to see a lion active, they are asleep 90 % of the time" (THAT's terrible!) and his wife , your friend, said, "Tell Earth Dog, you don't need to be able to outrun a lion, you just need to be able to outrun someone else in your group. That should inspire her to get out and walk!!!" I know it's inspired me! I love you. Even if you ack, ackkk, ackkk. Mom

The ack ackkk, ackkk is relating to a friend of ours who coughs all night long! So I told mother that I was planning on coughing like that too!! :) Stick around, the best is yet to come!
